Water sports in Gran Canaria: what's included and what you pay on board

Part of what happens in the water is already inside the price. Part of it is sold on deck, at a figure that moves with the season. Here is the split, so nothing on board comes as a surprise.

In the price: snorkelling and the banana boat

Every group catamaran drops anchor for a swim, and at that stop the snorkelling gear and the banana boat are part of what you have already paid for. How long the stop lasts depends on conditions, so it is not a fixed number of minutes and we will not pretend otherwise. The private catamaran charter carries its own snorkelling kit and a paddle board instead.

Paid on board: jet ski from the boat and parasailing

Neither is included on any departure. You arrange them with the crew once the anchor is down, and the price varies by season, which is exactly why no figure is printed here. The single exception is the boat party, where a jet ski costs a fixed €30 for 15 minutes.

The jet ski safari is a different thing entirely

Riding off the back of a catamaran and riding the jet ski safari are not the same activity. The safari runs the coast between Mogán and Puerto Rico in a small group behind a guide, for 30 or 60 minutes, from €65 with free pick-up. One machine takes one or two people, so the price is per jet ski rather than per head, and two of you can take turns.

Diving: kit in, insurance out

The dive covers full equipment, meaning tanks, weights and a guide. Dive insurance sits outside that and is paid separately. Ask us and you get the figure before you commit to anything. If you would rather stay on the surface there is a guided snorkelling departure from €35, and a first try dive for anyone not yet certified, priced when you ask.

Before you get in the water

  • You have to be able to swim for the jet ski safari. The life jacket is ours.
  • Minimum ages and any height or weight limits are not published as fixed rules. We confirm them on WhatsApp before anything is held.
  • The minimum age for the person riding the jet ski is settled the same way, case by case.
  • If the sea will not let a boat out, you choose: a different date or all your money back.
  • Sun cream on before boarding, and bring a towel. Four hours out there is longer than it sounds.

Frequently asked questions

Is the banana boat an extra?

No. It belongs to the swim stop on the group catamarans, along with the snorkelling gear.

How much is parasailing?

It changes with the season and it is sold on board, so quoting a fixed figure here would be guesswork. Ask the crew once you are anchored.
