Boat trips in Gran Canaria: the four departures compared
Four boats leave Puerto Rico de Mogán, and they are not variations on the same afternoon. What separates them is group size, what you can do at the swim stop and how much of your day disappears.
From €55, children €35, sailing at 10:30 and 15:30. Four hours along the Mogán coast with a swim stop at El Perchel, lunch on board and an open bar. Of the four it spends the longest on the water where dolphins are usually spotted. If you are only doing one boat all week, this is the one we would point you at.
Glass bottom boat trip — same length, drier
From €50, children €35, the same two sailings and the same four hours. The difference is a glass panel set into the hull: the seabed is there to watch without going in. The swim stop still happens for anyone who wants it. This is the calmest of the four and the one families choose most often.
Boat party — 250 people and a DJ
From €59, one departure at 15:00, four hours. A 250-capacity catamaran with a DJ, entertainers and shows, an open bar with mojitos and lunch on board. There is no child rate, because it is not that kind of trip. The transfer is not included either: €5 per person return, with collection around 14:00.
Private catamaran charter — up to six, at your hour
From €220, whether you take it for two hours or three, and that is for the boat rather than per person. Six people is the ceiling. Snorkelling gear and a paddle board are on board, and you sail it yourselves after a briefing. Food, drink, skipper and transfer are all outside the price, so you meet the boat at the quayside.
What all four have in common
They cast off from the same harbour in Puerto Rico. Three of them collect you from your hotel along the Maspalomas–Mogán stretch at no extra cost.
