Boat trips in Gran Canaria: the four departures compared
Three catamarans leave Puerto Rico de Mogán and a private speedboat leaves Puerto de Mogán, and they are not variations on the same day out. What separates them is group size, what you can do when the boat stops and how much of your day disappears.
From €55, children €35, sailing at 10:30. Four hours along the Mogán coast with a swim stop at El Perchel, lunch on board and an open bar. Of the four it spends the longest on the water where dolphins are usually spotted. If you are only doing one boat all week, this is the one we would point you at.
Glass bottom boat trip — same length, drier
From €50, children €35, the same 10:30 sailing and the same four hours. The difference is a glass panel set into the hull: the seabed is there to watch without going in. The swim stop still happens for anyone who wants it. This is the calmest of the four and the one families choose most often.
Boat party — 250 people and a DJ
From €59, one departure at 15:00, four hours. A 250-capacity catamaran with a DJ, entertainers and shows, an open bar with mojitos and lunch on board. There is no child rate, because it is not that kind of trip. The transfer is not included either: €5 per person return, with collection around 14:00.
Private speedboat — just your group
€70 per person with six aboard, or €420 for the boat if you are fewer; three hours, six people at most and nobody else aboard. It leaves from the harbour at Puerto de Mogán itself, with no hotel pick-up: your group meets it there. The route follows what you want and what the sea allows, and can take in Güigüí beach, sea caves and coves. Snorkelling gear is included and fruit comes on request, but there is no toilet, bar or lunch on board, and no published child rate.
What they share, and what they don't
They do not all leave from the same harbour: the three catamarans cast off from Puerto Rico, the speedboat from Puerto de Mogán. Hotel pick-up along the Maspalomas–Mogán stretch is included only on the Catamaran boat trip and the Glass bottom boat trip; the boat party charges €5 for it and the speedboat has none. What every one of them does share is the rule for bad weather: when the state of the sea rules out sailing, you move the date or take the full price back. Nothing is charged on this website.
