Child rates, spelled out

Gran Canaria with kids: what each child actually pays

Two of our eight activities have a published child rate. The other six do not, and that is usually the thing families find out too late. Here is the whole picture before you plan the week around it.

The two departures with a child rate

Both group catamarans put a child at €35: the Catamaran boat trip, €55 upwards for adults, and the Glass bottom boat trip at €50. Four hours each, morning and afternoon sailings at 10:30 or 15:30, a swim stop with the banana boat and snorkelling gear, and hotel pick-up inside the price. The glass-bottom one is the gentler of the pair, since the seabed can be watched from indoors and nobody is obliged to get wet.

The 4x4 jeep safari has no children's price

It is €65 and there is no published child fare. That is not an omission on this page, it is how the trip is sold. Half a day inland from Maspalomas, climbing to Fataga, Tunte and the Chira reservoir, with collection in Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. Every seat costs the same €65 regardless of age, so it is worth weighing up against the catamarans' child rate before you choose.

Where children can't go, or probably shouldn't

  • Boat party: no child rate, a 250-capacity party boat, and the age policy gets confirmed before anything is held.
  • Jet ski safari: the rider must be able to swim, and the minimum age is agreed with you case by case.
  • Buggy tour: only a licence holder drives, and the minimum age for passengers is a separate conversation, confirmed on WhatsApp.
  • Diving: the centre applies its own age limits for the try dive, confirmed when you enquire.

Why we don't print minimum ages

Because there is no single number to print. It depends on the activity, on the boat and sometimes on the day. A tidy table of ages here would look reassuring and be wrong half the time. Send the ages on WhatsApp instead and the answer comes from somebody who knows that week's boats, including limits on height or weight.

What to bring for a day at sea with children

Sun cream applied before boarding, a towel each, something warm for the late sailing and a change of clothes. Lunch is included on both group catamarans, meaning paella, salad and fruit, so tell us the ages when you enquire and the life jackets and portions are sorted out in advance.

Adult and child prices, side by side

From-prices per person. Where a cell reads no child rate, the adult price applies to everybody.

Final prices, IGIC included. No booking platform fees.

Frequently asked questions

Do children pay on the catamarans?

Yes, €35 on both group catamarans. Tell us their ages when you enquire so that life jackets and lunch portions are ready.

Is there a child rate on the 4x4 jeep safari?

No. None is published, so a child is charged the adult €65. We would rather you read that here than hear it at the pick-up.

What is the minimum age?

It depends on the activity, and we confirm it on WhatsApp rather than publishing a number that is not always true.
